Sometimes when you are stitching there is friction between the thread and the fabric causing pulling and snagging. When using metallic threads the effects are even worse. Thread Heaven puts a thin coating of silicon like lubricant on the thread which reduces the friction and hence the snagging. It comes in a small cube which allows you to place the thread between your finger and the cube then pull the thread through to put a very thin coating on the thread. Unlike other lubricants it is non sticky and does not attract dirt or damage the thread.
